Produce paperback editions, illustrated softcovers and product
catalogues with a choice of glued or thread-sewn binding and conventional or
flapped covers. Calculate the price of your edition online and explore how
changes to its construction affect the production budget.
Hotmelt perfect binding offers an economical solution for many paperback
and catalogue projects. For publications requiring a sewn construction,
choose a thread-sewn book block finished with hotmelt adhesive. Both options
can be priced against the same specification, making the additional cost of
sewing easy to assess.
Cover design is a key part of softcover production. Specify a standard
cover, a single flap or flaps on both sides, with the flap width set to your
requirements. Inside cover printing is available, including 4+1 and 4+4
configurations, so artwork and editorial content can continue across the
inner cover surfaces and flaps.
Coated cover papers, uncoated stocks and GC1 cartonboard offer different
combinations of stiffness, surface and appearance. An unlaminated or
water-based varnished cover is available alongside laminated finishes,
allowing the cover treatment to follow the design requirements of the
publication.
Format and page count also deserve attention when planning a print run:
their effect on paper utilisation can influence production costs. Compare
alternative dimensions and quantities in the calculator before settling on
the specification for your paperback book or catalogue.
